I was one of the many who'd guessed that MTV's Teen Wolf would be nothing more than a corny rip off of the 1985 film by the same name, but honestly I couldn't have been further from the truth. The show has an increasingly large cult following, and yours truly has found himself apart of that cult. The mid season finale aired yesterday, and true to form it left us wanting for more. If you're not a Teen Wolf fan already, now's the time to jump in!
1. Lycan Mythos
One thing that thoroughly impresses myself and countless viewers, is the show finds a unique way to cover werewolf lore. The pack dynamic is completely different from any other werewolf scope on TV. The history is rich and everything in the Teen Wolf universe has some sort of significance. The eye colors of Alpha, Beta and Omega members, the lycan symbols used to communicate with each other packs and the dynamic between competitive packs are all strands that weave together an incredibly expansive Teen Wolf mythos. This seasons plot stems from Celtic and druid mythology.
2.Villains

The guys you love to hate, the villains in the series seems to come full circle. There's no black and white here, one minute you're rooting for Peter Hale to die, and the next he's helping our beloved protagonist Scott McCall figure it all out. And shocker, the villains are always REALLY hot. If you're like me you find yourself not giving a damn that ______ just killed 6 innocents. I mean when you look that good...
3.Gore Meter

This show has never been for the faint of heart. This season racked up a death count higher than both seasons 1 and 2 combined. And as you can see from the gif above, TW has a way of executing the gore in the most colorful of ways.
4.Mystery

Each season is a mystery, usually surrounding mysterious events in Beacon Hills. There's plenty of plot twists, and you'll never find yourself bored, but wondering rather, "Who the f**k is that guy going around slashing people?!" "And why does Lydia scream so much?" Start watching and you'll see what I mean.
5.The Pack

I find myself emotionally invested with every character in the series, even the villains (especially the villains). Each character wolf or not, has a unique and interesting story to tell. No one likes a waste of space, isn't that right Bella Swan?
6. Bromance

The bond between a wolf and his pack is inseparable and such is the case with the boys of Teen Wolf. Of course there's a little homoeroticism here (heck there's even a gay couple this season), but it's endearing (eff endearing, it's really friggin cute) to watch these "brothers" care so much for each other. Well, they occasionally rip each other apart too. Which means clothes come off. Yup.
7. She Wolves

Every woman on this show is powerful, and at times more so than her male counter parts. Out of the two main gals, one wields a bow and arrow (the hottest weapon of the year if you haven't heard), and the other is essentially the harbinger of death. Not to mention some of the strongest villains in this show have been femme fatales. Watch your back boys.
8. Dog Fight
The fight scenes in the show are actually quite impressive. Don't believe me? Check it.
9. Date Night

Since TW is still a high school drama, the love department is a chaotic mess. The first season brings back those nauseating but nostalgic feelings (you know, puppy love. See what I did there?) of high school star crossed lovers. But in seasons 2 and 3 we see the relationships and inevitably the characters evolve, and it's not always for the best, but definitely interesting to watch.
10. Woof!
These moments happen all the time on the show. All the time. I don't think there's an episode that someone hasn't ripped their shirt off. And I am not complaining. At. All.
