Since Star Wars Rebels will be a world premiere event, I thought I’d share the latest international update. The Disney XD España (Spain) YouTube account recently posted the Spanish version of the Star Wars Rebels extended trailer that was released prior to San Diego Comic-Con.

Star Wars Rebels at Expo Disney Brazil 2014

On July 30 and July 31, there was an Expo Disney 2014 trade event at São Paulo, Brazil, to promote a variety of brands to corporate clients and other professionals in the industry. Star Wars Rebels had its own area at the Expo with character statues constructed at a workshop in São Paulo. The following photos are by Instagram users matesmaeda and karenbarros0_0.

Star Wars Rebels SDCC Interview with Entertainment Weekly

Entertainment Weekly sat down with Dave Filoni, Simon Kinberg, Vanessa Marshall, Taylor Grey, Steve Blum, and Tiya Sircar at San Diego Comic-Con last month. Simon Kinberg talked about the setting of the upcoming animated series, Vanessa Marshall shared some details on how she geeks out, and more can be found in the following 4-minute video interview.

First 71 Pages of Star Wars: A New Dawn Available at Random House

If you feel like you missed out by not getting the advanced reader’s copy at San Diego Comic-Con, fear not. Random House has the first 71 pages of Star Wars: A New Dawn available for preview as well as an audio excerpt of the audio book. At the Random House site, click on “Look Inside” beneath the book cover and you’ll be on your way to discovering Kanan and Hera stories before the days of Star Wars Rebels. Many thanks to Jedi-Bibliothek for pointing the way to the information!

Star Wars Rebels SDCC Interviews with Wikia

Wikia interviewed Tiya Sircar, Vanessa Marshall, and Taylor Gray during San Diego Comic-Con weekend.

  • Tiya Sircar briefly spoked about the Mandalorian culture and Sabine’s overall character, the influence her character has on young girls, and more.
  • Vanessa Marshall thanked everyone for her warm acceptance to the Star Wars fan community and briefly talked about her relationship with the other characters.
  • Taylor Gray touched on how the Empire has affected Ezra, the one word the best describes Ezra’s motivation for being a rebel, and more.

Dave Filoni Open to Working on a Star Wars Spin-Off Film

Executive producer Dave Filoni recently spoked to Slashfilm about Star Wars Rebels and had this to say about possibly writing and/or directing a Star Wars spin-off film.

/Film: For the next few years, you obviously are concentrating on Star Wars Rebels. But is a Star Wars spin-off movie something you’d want to do? Would you want to get in line to direct whether it be a Rebels movie or some random spin-off movie 10 years down the road?

Dave Filoni: Oh, of course. That’s a selfish thing to say, but of course. I mean, if I were to get an opportunity like that A, I wouldn’t turn it down. B, I would see it as a great honor to do it. And I would apply all my Jedi knowledge to doing it as best I can. When I see these spin-offs happening, I’ve got definitely more than a few ideas of things that I would love to see finished and some things that makes them, I think, personally great stories.

Filoni is a master at storytelling and he has done an excellent job with the staff of writers for both Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels. If that opportunity ever landed on his lap, I would want nothing more than to see him tackle something of that magnitude.

StarWars.com Released a New YouTube Video Series

The staff at Lucasfilm have created a brand new YouTube series based on the “top ten” structure previously seen on the Star Wars blog. The StarWars.com 10 is “a feature where StarWars.com’s editorial staff huddles to discuss–in committee–various topics relating to a galaxy far, far away.” The first video features the top ten droids from the Star Wars films and Star Wars: The Clone Wars. I also kindly suggested they do a video on the top ten clone troopers and received a positive reply. Let’s hope we see that in the near future!

@BlueJaigEyes Good suggestion.—

Star Wars: The Clone Wars Soundtrack

Everything Geek Podcast sat down with Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels music composer Kevin Kiner, where he revealed that Lucasfilm is compiling a full soundtrack of Clone Wars seasons 1-6! Personally, Kiner produced some of the most memorable themes in Star Wars: The Clone Wars, particularly Ahsoka’s theme. I look forward to seeing this come to fruition. Currently, you can hear a collection of the music at his website.

John Jackson Miller’s Interview with Newsarama

John Jackson Miller, the writer behind Star Wars: A New Dawn, recently spoke with Lucas Siegel at Newsarama about the highly anticipated novel, set to be released on September 2, 2014.

SDCC 2014: “Heroes of Star Wars Rebels” Panel Video

Last month, David Collins took the stage with the cast and crew of Star Wars Rebels for an in-depth discussion of the series at San Diego Comic-Con. Most of us caught the live blogging and tweets from fellow Star Wars fans in attendance, but now you can view the entire video thanks to Star Wars Underworld.
