In a departure from my normal recipe blog, I wanted to post my short review of Golden Son, by Pierce Brown. It's the follow up novel to Red Rising. There are no spoilers in the review, just some basic thoughts on the book. I loved the book, and felt the need to promote it with this review/plug.

I just finished my advance copy of Golden Son. My heart is pounding, and I have no one to discuss this with until the book officially comes out.

Action from start to finish. Raw emotion. Pierce Brown has truly solidified his place among the best sci-fi authors. I read a lot of science fiction and fantasy, and I say the aforementioned sentence without sarcasm. If you read Red Rising and enjoyed it even in the most remote sense, you must read Golden Son.
Mr. Brown has created an in depth world with twisting plots and gripping characters. Golden Son truly pulls the reader in with epic drama, action, and intrigue. I couldn't put the book down. Golden Son is a superb follow up to Red Rising, and may actually overshadow Mr. Brown's outstanding debut novel.

Now, Mr. Brown, when the bloodydamn hell can I get the third book?!
