Force Friday Galactic Madness

The Courier claims Dennis Lawson was asked to return in Star Wars: Episode VII. According to them he said:
They asked me but it just would have bored me.
In the end, his answer was the best for everyone. We didn’t need Wedge back. Most people don’t know who Wedge is or was. But most of all, if Lawson’s heart wasn’t in it, the responsible thing to do was turn it down. I applaud him for that.
That said, this should come as no surprise to Star Wars fans. Lawson turned down a cameo aboard the Tantive IV in Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith, a film his nephew, Ewan McGregor (Obi-Wan Kenobi), was the male lead in. Lawson clearly wants to pursue challenging roles and saying “whoa, that got em!” just isn’t one of those parts.
On a side note, some film blogs sure are sleazy. They’re really eating this story up and using it to disparage the film already. I guess they really need those ad clicks to pay for that dinner at Outback Steakhouse this Friday night. If you dislike something and you cover it, it becomes rather transparent you’re covering it for the ad revenue. If people didn’t take them seriously, it wouldn’t seem so gross to me. You should follow your passion. But if your passion is money, or your passion is disparaging things, you’re kind of an ass.
