I’m a little late with this but here are the books I read for the Read-a-thon:

Four Volumes of Children of the Sea

This is a gorgeously illustrated series. every page immerses you into the authors love affair with the ocean and its many mysteries. The main character of the story is a young girl named Ruka who spends her summer discovering the origins  of two young boys who have been raised underwater. The boys journey and their destiny become tied up in the lives of Ruka and her family as well as the entire universe. The story starts off slowly but builds to a very esoteric yet enjoyable ending.

Mermaid Legacy

I was drawn to this book  because of the mermaid elements of the story. I was originally interested in the story of Hester and her mermaid ancestor but the pace of the novel left me wanting more. Their are some unique concepts but I didn't feel connected to any of the characters and didn't much care where their stories were leading.

The Lost Prince

My favorite read! I really love The Iron Fey series by Julie Kagawa. Julie manages to create sequels that are wonderful additions to the overall mythology of her worlds. This book focuses on Ethan Chase, little brother to the Iron Queen and someone who has always been cursed by the presence of faeries. Ethan gets drawn into a mystery that has him crossing the boundaries into Fey and having exciting adventures with characters old and new to the Iron Fey universe. A wonderful read and a great kickoff to a new series .
