This November 22nd, the Hunger Games Trilogy hits theaters. If you are familiar with the film, the on-set costumes are certainly visually stimulating. Costume designer Trish Summerville was recently interviewed by Lucky Magazine. In her interview, she mentions being inspired by bugs- Praying Mantises to be exact. She says that it was their hard shell that inspired some of the looks designed for the Peacekeepers.
Apparently she also pulled a suitcase with a molded spine from Alexander McQueen.
The character Effie Trinket wears mostly McQueen during the film. Who can be upset with that?
