Apparently, this ad ran during the Super Bowl, but I’ve only just now seen it:
Tom Hiddleston (Loki in The Avengers and Thor: The Dark World), Mark Strong (known to me from the Sherlock Holmes film), and Sir Ben Kingsley (many many roles but most recently a bad guy in Iron Man 3) riff on how bad guys are always British while selling gorgeous-looking Jaguar cars. I found it hilarious and yet effective, both visually — I want to watch it multiple times — and in terms of its message — I know what product it’s selling (a problem with many catchy ads) and I now want one.
The campaign website has more footage, including teasers with each star and a behind-the-scenes making-of for the ad with director Tom Hooper and the actors. This YouTube playlist has yet more with Hiddleston, giving the Richard II speech. (“This blessed plot, this earth, this realm, this England.”)
