Here is this week’s Podcasts in Review.

Bombad Radio: Episode 162 is actually a remix of two old episodes featuring an interview with actor, director and voice actor Kristoffer Tabori. For the first time, they present the two part interview in one seamless episode. I hadn’t hear this one before, so it was a fun interview to listen to. Kris talk about the work he’s done, voicing HK-47 in KOTOR, auditioning for Star Wars: A New Hope and shares a lot of fun Hollywood stories.

Coffee with Kenobi: Episode #23 starts off with some Star Wars Rebels discussion as they cover the 7 minute preview clip. The Bearded Trio chimes in with a quick interview with Cory Dee Williams. Afterwards, Dan and Cory have a spoiler free Guardians of the Galaxy chat. Then there’s the main feature: their interview with author Adam Bray on the Star Wars Rebels: The Visual Guide. Adam talks about his travel books, working with different teams to make the Visual Guide, and some fun general Star Wars discussion.

Full of Sith: Episode LXXVIII is their “Rumor Control” show focusing on the latest Star Wars Episode VII rumors and possible leaks. If you’re avoid rumors, you’ll definitely want to skip this one. However, if you want to catch up on all the latest rumors, this is a great episode to listen to. They cover the Stormtrooper helmets, Han Solo’s outfits, the cyborg/inquisitor Vader-villain, and a very nice breakdown of how all of these rumors might flow together. The show also starts out with some listener feedback covering previous topics like Shadows of the Empire, evil Yoda, etc. It’s a good episode to check out.

Geek Out Loud: Episode 100 begins with listener feedback on Superman, Buffy and Star Wars. Then Steve brings on his first guest, the one and only James Arnold Taylor, as they talk Star Wars and beyond. Then Jimmy and Jason come on to talk wrestling, Trek, movies, comics, the 80’s and more. It’s a very fun episode and worth a listen.

Rock Out Loud: The “ANTHEMS!” episode covers rock anthems. From AC/DC “For Those About to Rock” to Guns N Roses “Paradise City”, they cover a variety of hit songs and great bands with lots of fun discussion. The show kicks off with Kristin’s concert review of Def Leppard/KISS, they talk a little Lenny Kravitz, and there’s lots of listener feedback. And if you stay after the credits, there is a bonus convo where Steve and Kristin talk about Kristin’s dad and his strange obsession with a weird band. It’s interesting and worth hanging around for.

Skywalking Through Neverland: Episode 42 includes a lot of discussion on Guardians of the Galaxy without very many spoilers. While they do spoil the end credit scene (there is plenty of warning for those still avoiding spoilers), the rest of their discussion focuses on their general thoughts about the film and the characters, and the build up and promotion of the film. For the discussion, they’re joined by Dave Skale. Afterwards they toss around the idea of doing some monthly movie music episodes and talk with Adam and Bobbie Jo Medina about winning the opportunity to stay at Disney’s Haunted Mansion.

Episode 43 starts out with guest Paul Barrie (Window to the Magic) as they talk about the Friends of the Magic Meet-Up at Disneyland. Paul talks about how he got started in podcasting, organizing the meet-up, and his unique way of recording audio. From there, they talk with guests Adam and Bobbie Jo Medina again to follow-up on their stay at Disney’s Haunted Mansion. They go over the details of all the things they were able to see and do at the special event. They also have Mark Oguschewitz on to talk Muppets Most Wanted which came out on DVD. Plus there’s a Robin Williams tribute.

Star Wars Action News: Episode 431 has a full review of the Black Series SDCC Jabba the Hutt detailing his box, mouth movement, Salacious Crumb and accessories. They also review the Han and Greedo cantina set, talk about the ridiculously expensive aftermarket SDCC black hole stormtroopers, and the more affordable Darth Vader Hot Wheels car. Afterwards, they broach the topic of collectible Star Wars pins and all the ones that will be available for Celebration Anaheim. Johnathan also has an “On the Pegs” report for those hunting the stores, and Steve the Ginger Prince has a report from London Film and Comic Con.
