When you think of Star Wars, what is the first thing that comes to your mind? Is it a particular character? Perhaps a favorite scene? How about a memorable line, since those are in abundance? The first thing that comes to my mind is the music. The drums, the trumpets, the violins, and even the electric guitar going off in the background. Nothing lightens up my day more than listening to the soundtracks of the Star Wars saga on my way to work. Some songs electrify me and others make me cry. The crying part doesn’t really happen often, especially on public transportation, but when it does, the culprit is Emmy Award winner Kevin Kiner. The one song that really does it for me is Ahsoka’s theme composed for Star Wars: The Clone Wars. Paired up with the final scenes of “The Wrong Jedi,” the song truly captivates the emotions and essence of the end of a journey. And I kid you not, I cry every time. Every single time.

Throughout the episode arc of Ahsoka, you might notice the music sounds a little bit different. The difference is that Kevin Kiner, our composer, went out and he used a full orchestra. Something we do not normally do on this show. It’s time consuming and it’s very expensive for our TV series to do so, but Kevin flew to Prague on his own time and his own dime and used a full orchestra for these final episodes. So if you notice a difference in the music and you say, “Wow, this is fuller. This is bigger than Clone Wars normally feels,” it’s all because of Kevin Kiner.
