Synopsis:

But Aelyx has been hiding the truth about the purpose of his exchange, and its potentially deadly consequences. Soon Cara will be in for the fight of her life-not just for herself and the boy she loves, but for the future of her planet.

Review:
Cara doesn’t trust the aliens blindly like her parents, but she doesn’t hate them like her most of her peers. And when she meets Aelyx it’s not exactly love at first sight, but more of a meet-cute out of a romantic comedy. Aelyx reminded me a lot of Mr. Darcy in Pride and Prejudice. He’s arrogant and often says offensive things but has a good heart and soon starts to change for the better when he gets to know Cara.

Alienated is first in an exciting new YA science fiction series. Fans of the shows Roswell and StarCrossed will enjoy this romantic, cross-species love story. I thoroughly enjoyed this well-paced drama that held plenty of mystery, suspense, and romance. The story ends with a fun twist that wasn’t quite a cliffhanger, but left me eager for the next in the series.
