Everything Geek Podcast Interview with Kevin Kiner

Last week, Everything Geek Podcast sat down with Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels music composer Kevin Kiner. In the interview, Kiner revealed that Lucasfilm is compiling a full soundtrack of The Clone Wars seasons 1-6. The YouTube version of the interview is currently available. In the interview, they talk about how Kevin decided to get into music as a career, how he first got involved in Star Wars: The Clone Wars, some of his favourite scores he did for The Clone Wars, what we can expect from his scores for Star Wars Rebels, his upcoming composing jobs and other projects, what it was like working on a show as big as The Clone Wars, the direction process from Dave Filoni when composing music for The Clone Wars, scenes he struggled coming up with ideas how to compose and his favourite The Clone Wars episode to work on and favourite in general.

“The Machine in the Ghost” Preview on Monday, August 11

According to IGN, starting Monday, August 11, expect four all new Star Wars Rebels shorts on Disney XD every Monday night over the next four weeks. The first Rebels preview, entitled “The Machine In The Ghost,” is scheduled to air from 9:29 to 9:32 PM EST. The subsequent previews might be called Art Attack, Entanglement, and Property of Ezra Bridger. Rebels Report pieced the puzzle together based on the four sections bearing the same titles in the latest book Star Wars Rebels: Rise of the Rebels by Michael Kogge. Fans saw similar previews during Ashley Eckstein’s “Behind the Force” show at Star Wars Weekends.

Toys “R” Us Promotional Video: Dave Filoni “Behind the Force”

The Toys “R” Us Canada YouTube account released a video promoting Star Wars Rebels. The 3-minute video, entitled “Behind the Force,” gives fans a behind-the-scenes look with Rebels executive producer Dave Filoni. The video originally premiered during Star Wars Weekends.

ToysToys “R” Us will be promoting various Star Wars Rebels toys in the coming weeks. The first video looks inside Hera Syndulla’s ship, the Ghost.

More video reveals include Chopper on August 17, AT-AT on August 24, B-Wing on August 31, TIE Fighters on September 7, Imperial Star Destroyer on September 14, AT-DP on September 21, The Phantom on September 28, the Inquisitor’s Lightsaber on October 5, Snowspeeder on October 12, Agent Kallus on October 19, and Kanan’s Lightsaber on October 26.

Star Wars Rebels: Spark of Rebellion DVD

Pre-orders can be placed on the new Star Wars Rebels: Spark of Rebellion DVD on Amazon. Set to be released on October 14, the DVD includes the one-hour special written by executive producer Simon Kinberg. The one-hour premiere of the series will air on the Disney channel and the series will continue on Disney XD.

The Disney XD UK YouTube account uploaded the official theme song of Star Wars Rebels composed by Kevin Kiner. The song first premiered at WonderCon 2014 when Kevin Kiner attended the Star Wars Rebels panel.

Slashfilm interviewed executive producers Simon Kinberg and Dave Filoni. Kinberg briefly talked about writing Star Wars, how he’s a fan of the franchise, and his take on Star Wars rumors. In a separate interview, Filoni discussed the current work environment for Rebels, how the new series differs compared to Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Kanan Jarrus’ role as a Jedi in relation to Luke Skywalker, the role of the Inquisitor, and much more.

When Did the Star Wars Rebels Cast First See Star Wars?

Maude Garrett (The Hot Hits, Geek Bomb, Jedi Alliance) interviewed the cast of Star Wars Rebels at San Diego Comic-Con about the first time each actor saw a Star Wars movie and what the experience was like for them.

Many Star Wars Rebels books as well as book covers are popping up recently in this new era of Star Wars. Jedi Bibliothek shared his latest finds with the rest of the Star Wars community last week. The first is Star Wars Rebels: Droids in Distress by Michael Kogge (who also wrote Star Wars Rebels: Rise of the Rebels). The second is Star Wars Rebels: Ezra’s Wookiee Rescue by Meredith Rusu. The Perfect Time to be a Star Wars Fan

Lisa Granshaw recently wrote about the reasons why it’s a good time to be a Star Wars fan over at the Daily Dot. She briefly wrote about Star Wars Celebration and the newly announced podcast stage, Bob Iger’s mention of developing ideas for Star Wars attractions in Disney Parks, and IGN’s exclusive clip of Disney XD’s next Star Wars Rebels preview.
