In a recent interview as part of The Hollywood Masters series conducted by The Hollywood Reporter’s Stephen Galloway, Disney Studios chairman Alan Horn revealed news about Star Wars: Episode VII to crowd at the Loyola Marymount School of Film and TV.
According to Horn the toughest things about the project are the casting and the screenplay. He elaborates that casting is still ongoing while the script is finished.
Horn talks about the fact that Larry Kasdan co-wrote the screenplay with J.J. Abrams with an “early draft” by Michael Arndt. It is easy to read too much into things but the way that Horn said this makes it sound like there was some very heavy revisions if not a wholly new script after Arndt’s early draft.
Horn also mentions that Episode VII is currently filming and that they will not be filming VII, VIII and IX back-to-back.
