On October 3, 2008, Star Wars: The Clone Wars premiered on Cartoon Network. I don’t remember exactly how I caught the trailer for it, but I remember sitting on the floor in front of the television set and tuning in that Friday night at 9pm. The first episode, “Ambush,” gave me exactly what I wanted: humor (the Separatist droids always made me laugh), wisdom (Yoda teaching the clone troopers various lessons along the way), and of course, clone troopers (my favorite characters of the series). For six years, The Clone Wars brought quality storytelling to households everywhere, expanding upon my favorite era and forging a new generation of fans.

On October 3, 2014, a new animated series will herald in the new era of Star Wars. Star Wars Rebels: Spark of Rebellion, the one-hour special written by executive producer Simon Kinberg, will debut on Disney Channels around the world with a U.S. premiere at 9pm ET/PT. The series will continue on Disney XD starting Monday, October 13, 2014, at 9pm ET/PT. Verified users can also watch an advanced preview of Star Wars Rebels: Spark of Rebellion on September 29, 2014, through the WATCH Disney site and WATCH Disney XD app for smartphones and tablets. The special will also be available for purchase through Apple iTunes, Amazon Prime, Google Play, and Disney XD VOD. Lastly, on October 14, 2014Star Wars Rebels: Spark of Rebellion will be available on DVD in retailers nationwide.
