Ryan Hardy gave all “The Following” fans an unexpected ending during the season finale of season three. However, now that FOX has dropped the show because of its low rating during the third season does it mean that “The Following” has now come to the end of its lifespan?

When this crime drama was first introduced to the public, it had a strong following yet something happened and it became the lowest rated show outside of CW primetime. Diehard fans of the show have turned to social media asking streaming channels to save it. If you recall, Netflix was able to save Longmire from its ending.

Hulu is not onboard with continuing the show though. They have already released a statement informing fans that it is not likely that they will participate.

Fans were not dissapointed with Kevin Bacon’s acting during the finale. Some feel as though he did his best acting in season three when he survived falling into the waterfall. He faked his death so his family would be safe, therefore, viewers were sure that a season four would be returning that would go into more details about the serial killer organization.

FOX may have decided to drop the show but Alexi Hawley still decided to plan for the 4th season and revealed the plot during an interview with Entertainment Weekly. Season four would pick up with Gwen having a baby that was raised by Mike and Max, who would remain an item.

Bloggers are saying that they feel a renewal will happen on a streaming network even if it is not Hulu. They are also shocked that Hulu is not onboard with streaming “The Following” since they acquired “The Mindy Project”. Regardless, Hulu may be saying no but another streaming network may step in.

For now, only time will tell and Kevin Bacon is very pleased with the love that is being shown from the shows fans. He says, “big love to all of our loyal fans. It’s been an honor to work for you. Sweat, tears and lots of blood”.
