Attending my first New York Comic Con was a lot of fun. I saw cool cosplay, reconnected with old friends, made new friends, and bought myself an awesome Real Grade Gundam. But, during my first NYCC, I learned some lessons along the way. I am going to share with you my top 5 tips on how to survive New York Comic Con!

Be Comfortable: You are going to walk... ALOT! Make sure to wear comfortable clothing and shoes. If you are a cosplayer, or planning on cosplaying, always pack comfort clothes or sneakers. Also, bring a bottle of water and small snacks to munch on :)

Extra Battery Power: Before walking out of your home, be sure to carry a portable battery pack. Nothing is worse than walking around comic con with a dead phone or camera. I bought my spare battery pack at duane reade for 15 bucks. Make sure you are your devices are charged, and ready to go.

NYCC Mobile App: The NYCC Mobile App is going to be your best friend/navigation system. Use the features to find your favorite panels, exhibits, and much more. You will receive updates during the con, to discover what's new.

Take Loads Of Pictures: New York Comic Con is one of those conventions that you will never forget! Especially if this is your first con, like myself. Go ahead on take loads of pictures and video footage while you are on the floor. There are so many displays to discover. This is the one time not to feel guilty about spamming your friends on instagram.

Bonus Tip: Take the opportunity to take pictures with your favorite celebrities and cosplayers. I never thought I would ever get a picture with Justin Rojas of Funimation... and guess what?! I did!!!!!! So, if you ask politely, you too, can get a picture with your favorite star :)
