Back in April I went on a little fanboy love-in for
Knightmare - a live action dungeon crawler/RPG with shonky 80s VFX and questionable performances from everyone involved (by gods, it was awesome). It kickstarted my interest in fantasy, and probably inspired an entire generation of geeks to pick up a D20 and roll some critical hits.
Then it went away for 20 years.
Then it came back!
As part of
YouTube Geek Week, the eternally awesome Knightmare has been
rebooted for a one-off special with Hugo Myatt, who starred as the original dungeon master Tregard. It's 26 minutes of nostalgic gold.
I have a deep-rooted soft spot for
Knightmare, and it's good to see other people think the same (at the time of writing, the video has hit 175,000 hits). What makes it better is that it's part of an entire week dedicated to geek finery in all its forms. Take a gander at the full list of videos - it even has
Brian Blessed doing what he does best.
