Force Friday Galactic Madness
For the sake of ultimate transparency, I've never been a huge Star Wars fan. In fact, I've been known to commit the act of blasphemy, in loving the second trilogy...
As a proud member of Rancho Obi-Wan, it is my joyful and ongoing responsibility to support an organization whose purpose is to collect, preserve and exhibit Star Wars memorabilia and artifacts. I have not been a member for long–I enrolled late December 2013 as a Christmas present to myself–but I have played my part with other members of the Star Wars fan community in bringing awareness and funds to a growing collection (check out The Kessel Run event from earlier this year organized by Making Star Wars and Mark Newbold of Jedi News UK).
My Rancho Obi-Wan 2013 Membership Kit
All that said, here is your chance to support Rancho Obi-Wan and win a chance to visit the collection in person!
Celebrate “May the 4th” in the ultimate Star Wars environment! Now through noon PT on April 4th, for every donation we receive of $10 or more, we will enter the donor’s name in an opportunity drawing. On April 4th we will draw 10 names and those donors will be invited to bring one guest to Rancho Obi-Wan on May, 4, 2014 for an intimate celebration, including a guided tour of the museum with owner Steve Sansweet, lunch and other fun activities. Visit the website for full details.
Donate today for a chance to celebrate May the 4th in style!
In addition to this exciting contest, Rancho Obi-wan will be publishing more blog posts with frequent updates by Rancho Obi-Wan’s directors and other special guests, “Look for some exciting anecdotes that will run the gamut from personal experiences, to collectibles old and new, to fandom-all bound together by our shared love and passion for Star Wars.”
To kick things off, Steve Sansweet wrote a post about the birth of Rancho Obi-Wan in the hills east of Hollywood. Read all about it by clicking through the image below.
