New York Comic Con is swiftly approaching. From October 9-12, the comics and popular culture convention will take over the Javits Center for another amazing and mind-blowing experience. NYCC grows bigger and better every year I’ve attended, and I look forward to the 2014 celebration because Star Wars will have a major presence.

ReedPOP released the panel schedule in advance through the NYCC 2014 app on September 15. The two main Star Wars panels are listed below:

Star Wars Rebels
Empire Stage 1-E at 5:45pm on Saturday, October 11

The Rebellion has begun! With the premiere of Star Wars Rebels on Disney Channel last week and new episodes about to launch on Disney XD, a previously unexplored era in the Star Wars universe has finally been opened to reveal the beginnings of the Rebel Alliance against the Empire. While you’ve met the crew of the Ghost, there are hints that hero Ezra Bridger will soon be entering the larger world of the Force. Additionally, the crew–and Jedi Kanan in particular–has drawn the attention of the Inquisitor, who’s been charged by the Empire to hunt down any Jedi Knights who escaped Order 66. Explore these topics and get a behind-the-scenes peek at the voice recording sessions of Star Wars Rebels when you join series Star Vanessa Marshall (“Hera”) and Lucasfilm’s Pablo Hidalgo for an exclusive preview of what’s to come in the first season of the series from Lucasfilm Animation.

A New Dawn: The Exciting Future of Star Wars Publishing
1A14 at 3:15 on Saturday, October 11

Standing alongside the films as official Star Wars canon, the role of books in the Star Wars universe has never been more important. Join New York Times bestselling Author John Jackson Miller, Vanessa Marshall (Hera in Star Wars Rebels), Pablo Hidalgo (Lucasfilm Story Group), Jennifer Heddle (Senior Editor, Lucasfilm) and Shelly Shapiro (Editor, Del Rey) as they discuss the planning of Star Wars: A New Dawn, as well as the exciting list of upcoming Star Wars novels from Del Rey.

Although I have a press badge this year, it doesn’t guarantee seating for the Star Wars Rebels panel. I tried to grab a VIP badge when passes went on sale, but the Force was not with me that day, since the tickets sold out in two minutes. Here’s hoping I can make both panels (and get good seating in the process). I will be carrying around my video and audio equipment to record panels and any other tidbits. Stay tuned!

UPDATE: The Star Wars Rebels panel is no longer in the schedule. We're waiting on further updates to find out if the date and time has changed.
