Bleeding Cool’s Podcast (about 16 minutes in) with Brendon and Jason broke some Star Wars Rebels news. The duo claim Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia are eight years old during the series and they’re not in it. That means Star Wars Rebels takes place eight years after Revenge of the Sith or twelve years before A New Hope. If accurate that’s the real gem of the podcast’s news.
They go on to claim the first film is about a the Galactic Empire taking over a planet. A bunch of people are lined up, even some of the parents fall into line but a group of teenagers refuse. The teenagers go on the run in a ship called the “Ghost,” which we saw at CEII. So the teenagers are the rebels and the adults are the Galactic Empire.
The Ghost on the run!
The premise they extrapolate upon sounds a lot like what Luke and Biggs talk about in the Star Wars cut sequence found on the Star Wars: The Complete Saga (Episodes I-VI) [Blu-ray] (not the individual sets).Commerce is being nationalized and farms are being taken over, Luke Skywalker refuses to let such things happen to him, but he believes the Galactic Empire would never want anything from that rock (Tatooine).
The Ghost!
The “Ghost” ship is going to be the thing they sell heavily and the “home base” of the series. A lot of Star Wars Rebels will be set on the ship.
Also on the podcast, they discuss some Episode VII news. The pair are confident the first spin-off will be the Han Solo story. They say they know for sure that agencies have been contacted to submit their “Han Solos.” They then say they really want Joseph Gordon-Levitt. As a rebuttal, I think it should be stated that Harrison Ford was around the same age as Joseph Gordon-Levitt when he made Star Wars. Joseph Gordon-Levitt, is too old to begin his training, by about fifteen years. The man is 32 years old.
They say construction is beginning at Pinewood now and the rumors about the Falcon and a cantina being constructed are not true. There is no finished set you can walk into. They cannot ascertain if they are actually building the Millennium Falcon again.
Thanks to @starsymbiotes for the heads up!
UPDATE:
@JustinL81 Let's put a pin in this, and bring it up again after the NYCC panel.

I think we all know what that means. We will just leave that here.
